I Knew An Ex Racing Greyhound Was For Me!
BJ's and Champs Story

I was looking for a dog and met a lady at our horse barn who owned a greyhound and after talking to her I got really interested.  I read Adopting the Ex-racing Greyhound and I knew that was the dog for me!

I started my search and found Stu & Barbara; however, I had 2 Jack Russells living at my house so I needed a dog that would get along with them.    I wanted a female as I always had female dogs in the past but was told I had to get a male--a female wouldn't tolerate those hyper Jack Russells.  The Colorado Team were now on the search for just the right male dog...Stu & Barbara called and said they had found a match a beautiful 3 1/2 yr old male brindle...I adopted Bobby Joe on Feb 10, 2001.   I named him B. J. and he tolerated the Jack Russells...

When they moved out I started fostering for GSGA in between my flying schedule with United. I was the Foster for dogs that would not live with cats, and fostered a beautiful fawn male whose track namewas Dru Tang... He was so cute with his perked up ears and played so vigorously with the squeaky toys I flunked Fostering 101. B. J. needed a buddy, so he wouldn't be lonely when I was out of town flying. Greyhounds are like potato chips; you just cannot have one.

DruTang was adopted Nov 25, 2002 when he was 5yr 3mos old .  I named him Champ because he had quite a racing career of 251 races, he was my true champion and now I was the Lucky Winner!   Ellen, B.J. & Champ
